Pigeon Hole #3

The latest pigeon hole event was a resounding success.

Providing a context outside of the gallery circuit, the pigeon hole hosts art events where paintings share the space with performers, sculptures and people looking for a stimulating alternative to more conventional art experiences.

CONDUIT Objects, space and connection. 27 March

BRUNSWICK STREET GALLERY 322, Brunswick St. Fitzroy, 3065
OPENING: Friday 27 mar at 6pm. Runs to 9 Apr 2009

The Conduit exhibition was a big success. We had one month to integrate our practices and responded to each others work and the interior of Brunswick street gallery. The process initiated many unexpected dialogues, as well as those considered, combining the perceptual, spatial, visual and tactile.

Conduit brought together the photographic sculptures of Devika Bilimoria, my own paintings and sculptures, and the installations and sculpture of Horse, Carmen Reid and Beau Emmett.

Exhibition Friday 13th - March

COme see my work at "THE PIGEON HOLE"

Friday March 13th 6-10pm
38 Hutchinson St, East Brunswick

Following the success of its premiere exhibition, The Pigeon Hole is again opening its doors to the public.
YOU, 1 gigantic warehouse and 14 artists will all meet on Friday the 13th of March in East Brunswick. Floating exhibition walls, flying performers, walk around sculptures - experience the visual, audio, artistic fun-park in between 6pm and 10pm.

Pigeon Hole is a huge, formerly commercial warehouse which has been transformed into a dynamic, self organized artist collective. Responding to a need in the community for dynamic, non commercial establishments, it is a fertile ground for contemporary artists to collaborate, perform, exhibit and exchange new ideas.
Pigeon Hole currently houses the bizarre and inspiring studios of over 14 artists ranging in practice from visual arts, experimental electronic composition and design, to acrobatic physical theatre.

EXHIBITION AT THE PIGEON HOLE

It has been a long time in the making, but months of work have finally payed off in the form of our first exhibition at the Pigeon hole. Lage hanging partitions were hoisted up to display two dimensional works, an empty photographic studio was dolled up, and the rest of the substantial floor space was made available for sculptures. Corin Adams, David Rellim, Carmen Reid, Talia Liney, Devika Bilimoria, Jody Lloyd, Robert Jordan, Ruth Schaldach and Myself contributed to this show, and we are expecting even more artists for the next. We are hoping to attract guest artists to exhibit monthly to help keep the space alive and offer one of the few FREE places in Melbourne.
